Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda is an old, fat Puerto Rican man who believes he's the second coming of Christ. He formed his own ministry in the 1980s named Creciendo en Gracia (Growing in Grace Ministry). According to Bill Maher's movie Religulous, Miranda has 100,000 idiots who are even dumber than him following him worldwide.
His message to people is to let loose:
- The devil, hell, and sin don't exist.
- Don't pray. It's useless.
- So are moral or ethical guidelines.
So as long as you give him money, life will be ok.

(This person is kinda upset that I dissed their favorite browser. I actually use Chrome and I like it, but for some reason the layout here is different than on Firefox. And of course, the iPad and IE just plain suck. You tool.)

Awesome! One of the 100,000 idiots idiots saw this post probably using some type of Google Alert! I'm so excited to be talking to 'Anonymous' because he/she is too ashamed to come out from behind the veil and show the world how stupid they are.
First of all, the Manichean view of religion was done even before Judaism. The three great religions of today copied the concepts of heaven/hell and a divine being from Zoroastrianism. So I take all religions with a huge grain of salt. (Yes, I'm linking to my own posts. I like shameless self-promotion, too.) Christianity and Islam even copied the story of Jesus, and not the fat loser who you worship.
But you can still be saved, 'Anonymous,' and I don't mean in a spiritual way. I mean in an intellectual way. Do you honestly believe some heroin addict from the 1970s is telling you the truth? C'mon, 'Anonymous,' you're better than that! Don't end up being the people of Springfield from The Simpsons in this episode.
And yes, his supporters do give him cars and other niceties, so shut the fuck up. I never said he asked for money, but you guys are dumb enough to do it without him asking.
Oh AZ, wait til you find out who you were referring to in this matter. The Man Christ Jesus will soon transform himself - in 831 days in fact - and boy, oh boy...there will be no denying then that He is the Lord...and you my friend just mocked your creator.
Can't wait until June 30, 2012. Why can't you guys have just waited until December 21? It was only 6 more months.
INteresting, post and an even more interesting commentary. :)
If somebody actually bothered countering you strongly about the self-evident common sense that you blogged, they are either screwloose or too far out to be reached through rationality. I appreciate your use of their comments for comic appeal. :)
The transformation of Luis de jesus Miranda is over. He will appear soon without bodyguards, and without armored car. But one thing will not change, his love of drugs, gambling and women, and his followers blind love for their jesus-liar-man. Think about it, he must have bedded somebody's mother or sister. Now that his prophecies have failed, well, someone in his congregation must be pissed enough to off him. He did, after all, say there is no such thing as sin.
